Management of traumatized teeth during orthodontic treatment in adult

Dental trauma during undergoing orthodontic treatment is relatively uncommon but comes with various consequences. The management of such traumatized teeth presents a unique clinical challenge requiring careful examination, diagnosis and management from interdisciplinary team. Dental trauma can result in a range of complications including root resorption, pulpal necrosis, and ankylosis that may compromise orthodontic outcomes.

This session would present two different cases and discuss key considerations in managing such cases including clinical and radiographic endodontic evaluations, minimum observation period before continuing orthodontic forces, revised orthodontic treatment plan and also possible complications. Coordination between orthodontists and endodontists, individualized treatment planning and careful monitoring are key factors to preserve long-term health and satisfactory outcomes.
